Attend the Captivating Photo Exhibit at the Ringling Museum of Art
Don’t miss the incredible art exhibit featuring an in-depth look at the work and life of Alfred Eisenstaedt, one of the creative luminaries of American photojournalism. Now display at the Ringling Museum of Art, this special exhibition invites guests to explore the prolific lifestyle of one of the most celebrated artists of his time.
The German-born Eisenstaedt learned his craft in Europe in the 1920s and 30s, pioneering the use of the small Leica 35mm camera to get closer to his subjects and create more candid pictures. Eisenstaedt’s skillful reportage for the Associated Press earned him praise and recognition as he recorded countless historically significant events and people around the world. Fleeing the rise of fascism in the 1930s, Eisenstaedt came to the US and became one of the first photojournalists of LIFE Magazine, where he chronicled the notable and newsworthy for nearly forty years and captured some of the most iconic images of the era.
The photographs on display at this wonderful exhibition show the wide scope of Eisenstaedt’s work with subjects both notable and obscure. This handpicked selection offers a glimpse into the inner workings of one of the most celebrated photojournalists, so make sure you experience it in person at the Ringling Museum of Art!
